How to support us

Donate

Consider becoming a Community Supporter today. All it takes to ensure that one child will receive a book a month to their home for one year is $25. Getting books into the hands of kids in Yavapai County will take many of us, whether you can sponsor one child, ten children, or even a whole community, every dollar helps.

Other options:

Donate in person at the Prescott Public Library, or by mailing a check to:

The Imagination Library of the Prescott Area

Why Support ILPA?

While it only takes $25 to mail books to one child for a year, there are thousands of kids in Yavapai County between the ages of 0 and 5.

Since the program has no cost to registered families, its continued support relies on the generous donations of organizations, businesses and individuals who see the value in what we do.

We know that expanding access to books in homes and increasing the engagement of children and parents around reading is only one tool to help tackle the issues with childhood literacy in Arizona, but by working together, we can ensure that children who might not have had access to books, build their own home libraries. A book in the home of a child may seem like a small thing, but the impact that access to books and reading can have on a child’s future is unlimited.

How We're Funded

ILPA has support from numerous local community partners. We could not do what we do without them. Original and ongoing support comes from the Prescott area Rotary Clubs including The Frontier Rotary Club, the Prescott Rotary Club, and the Sunup Rotary Club. We also receive the continual support of the Prescott Public Library and the Friends of the Prescott Public Library in the form of in-kind donations towards administrative costs.

Thanks to grant support from the Arizona Community Foundation and Read On Arizona, in conjunction with the State of Arizona, we have been able to increase our reach from Prescott to all of Yavapai County, more than doubling our registrations since April of 2022.

With the support of additional area organizations, such as The Kiwanis Club of Prescott, the Prescott Sun-Up Lions Club, The James Family Foundation, and generous local businesses and individuals, we are proud to be locally funded and locally focused on our combined goal of increasing early childhood literacy in Yavapai County.

We would like to thank all of our community partners for their contributions!
